N42BZ · the plane with the parachute

One red handle. A parachute for the entire airplane.

CAPS — the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System — is factory equipment on every modern Cirrus, including N42BZ. Cirrus built its name on it: a whole-airframe parachute, standard, not an option.

Pull the handle and a rocket deploys a canopy attached to the airframe. The parachute is designed to bring the entire airplane — and everyone in it — to the ground under canopy. Cirrus reports more than 250 people returned to their families because of CAPS.

On N42BZ it works alongside Garmin Safe Return: two independent G7+ systems, both standard. You train the system with CHS Flight Instructors, including Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilots (CSIPs).

When you call the school, ask for N42BZ.
